How did the Cross Canada cycling fund-raiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters get named The Rotary Ride For Kids. Well as a proud Rotarian, a Past President of the Rotary Club of Sarnia and the current Assistant District Governor I have a long connection with Rotary that stretches back just over 20 years. The suggestion to seek support from area Rotary Clubs was made by my good friend and the current President of the Rotary Sarnia After Hours Club, Debbie Renaud McDermott. The idea being that if the Rotary Clubs in Lambton County came together, each making a donation to BBBS they collectively could be the largest donor and thus the title sponsor. As most of you already know all of the money raised whether through corporate sponsorship or individual donations will go directly to support the work of Big Brothers Big Sisters. None of these funds will be used to pay any of the expenses I will incur traveling from coast to coast.
