Leaving the Island

This year there have been many issues with BC Ferries and today was no exception. Booked to cross at 8 am we learned that the 6 and 9 am ferries had been canceled and people were also lining up from cancelations in Nanaimo. We lucked out not only making the ferry, although a tad late, but the delay meant our third ride Paul managed to get to us just before we boarded. On the mainland the 3 Amigoes set off for Chilliwack. No luck with camp or RV accommodation we ended up checking into a motel for the night. Covered 82.6 km elevation gain of 1,778 feet.
