Veterinarian and Ferry

Wood lsland to Caribou

Our friend Deb found us a veterinarian in nearby Montague and the vet agrees to see Maggie at a time that will still allow us to make the 1:30 p.m. ferry to Caribou, Nova Scotia.  After breakfast and a second coffee with our friends, we bid them farewell and head off to the vets.  When we get into the office Maggie is shaking so hard you can hear her teeth chattering.  The vet confirms that Maggie has an ear infection and prescribes a treatment for her.  A haircut and ear treatment in the last two days she is good to go and we head off to catch the ferry at Wood Island.

Our plan today.  No cycling.  We want to take David around the Cabot Trail.  We will get back to cycling in a couple of days.  So once we are off the ferry we head to Baddeck.  We will overnight there, do the Cabot Trail tomorrow and returning to the same campground for a second night.  Dinner at Baddeck Lobster Dinner was recommended and we decided to go.  We have to wait for over an hour but we get the best table in the restaurant with a great view out over Bras d’or Lake. If you are ever in Baddeck the place comes highly recommended from all of us.  We each ordered something different so we could sample.  David and Deb both started with a seafood chowder.  David had lobster, Deb had Crab Legs and I had Atlantic Salmon.  Wine, desert.
