What a Change

Today couldn’t be more different in every way from what I have experienced to date.  I’m not cycling by myself.  I’m wearing shorts and a cycling jersey not three layers of clothes. The icing on the cake though is the fact that we are off road on a wide paved path.  Over the course of the entire day we only have brief moments where we were cycling on gravel.

The trail went right by the Montreal Parachute Club so we stopped for a break and watched as they prepared and took off for their jump.  Later in the day we had a really nice lunch at a little coffee shop right along the river.

The best days are those where you can cycle directly out of one campground in the morning and end the day cycling into the next site.  Being able to do so is not only great for us as cyclists but it means that Deb can hang out at the campground until check out time at 11 a.m. or noon and doesn’t need to pick us up somewhere along the route but can head directly to the next campground and relax.

Today the trail ends about 2 kilometres from where we are camping and we are able to cycle in to meet Deb and Maggie.  The only mistake we made was turning right instead of left just before arriving at the campground.  It was great to begin with as we enjoyed the 1.5 kilometre ride downhill only to realize we had turned the wrong way and now need to cycle back up to the campsite.
